Apple Picking 2011

We went on our 2nd annual apple picking trip the end of September.  The kids always love this place with the corn bin, rope maze, bounce houses, big slide, apple slushies, pumpkins, and wagon ride.  Bradley and I enjoy it almost as much!  We ended up with $50 worth of apples this time and all I made was homemade applesauce for the freezer.  It's one of mine and Bradley's favorite things.  We left a bunch out to eat, too, since the kids love them.  We look forward to this every year.

Ellie's Firsts

Not to forget about Ellie in all the Kindergarten hubbub!  Ellie started preschool this year in the three year old room twice a week.  She also loves school!  And even more than she loves school she loves DANCE!  She goes once a week for an hour and does a bit of Acrobats, Ballet, and Tap.  I cannot wait for her recital in the summer.  I think she'll love it even more when she realizes she gets to wear sparkly fancy costumes!

Our First Day of Kindergarten!

Can't believe we have kids old enough to be in school!  Adam started kindergarten this year.  He was very excited and as I add this post (in October!) he still loves it.  His teacher is Mrs. Meier, who had a baby the beginning of September and hasn't been there much.  Luckily they have a good sub.  He really enjoys Science and Computers.  They have different teachers already for many special classes: PE, Music, Library, Computers, and Science.  I've already seen an improvement in his reading skills.  He also began the Running Club this week which is part of the Read, Right and Run program where they have to run 26 miles, read 26 books, and do 26 good deeds before the final race in April.  The year is off to a great start!

Very excited!

Once he sat down he wasn't so excited anymore.  He didn't like where he was sitting.

Looks like he had a good day though!

Ellie loves the sandbox!

Adam wanted to learn chess.
