Weight Loss Update

For anyone interested...

I've been doing Weight Watchers (again!) for about 8 weeks now and am finally getting it! I'm down 12.8lbs in 8 weeks, which I don't think is too bad. I've done WW before but for some reason this time it seems easier. I think I'm finally in the right mindset and ready to really do this. And I am! Only 37.5 lbs left until Bradley owes me a real, kidless, vacation!

15 month old Ellie

Ellie had her 15 month checkup today. She's an itty bitty thing: 20lbs 12 oz, which is only the 18th percentile. She was 31 inches though in the 60-something percentile. The doctor wasn't worried so I'm not either. My mom says I was really tiny (although you wouldn't know that looking at me now :) !) Her ears were fine so all this crying, pulling on her ears, not sleeping, and not eating are just because of her teeth. And she has gotten 5, almost 6, teeth in the last month or six weeks so I can see why! He also said they usually go on a hunger strike around 15 months so that could be why she's not eating, too. She got her two shots and we were on our way. They were out of the flu shot of course, and I was awful paranoid about the four people sitting in the waiting room with masks on. So we'll have to go back for that in mid-October and hope we don't catch anything before then!

Here's a picture of our sweet little girl...

Letter of the Week "Bb"

We decided to start up lessons again with Adam. I figured it was time for him to learn how to write all the letters of the alphabet, not just the ones he knew. Since he's already had so much work on the letter A with his name, and because we did that letter last time, I decided to start with the letter B.

Adam with his letter B crafts.

Close up: Beans on the letters Bb, feathers on a bird, the letter B painted with blue and brown, and a hot air balloon.

We also made a beehive with bees.

It took him a few days but he got the hang of writing them and did pretty well.

Runge Conservation Nature Center

While in Jeff City last weekend visiting my mom we decided to check out Runge since it was raining and we couldn't go fishing. It was pretty neat. The kids loved it.

Adam and Ellie checking out a snake.

Adam and Bradley putting on a puppet show.

Adam making his own nature scene on a huge magnetic wall.

Ellie looking at the lizard.

A giant frog!

Adam's Fishing Pole

We went to my mom's last weekend for a visit and to take Adam fishing for the first time. Too bad it rained and another unforeseen circumstance happened so we didn't get to take him but he had fun practicing his casting in the back yard.

School Work Week of Sept 22

Red is obviously one of this month's themes at Adam's school. He is not adjusting very well though. Every morning that I drop him off I have to almost drag him into his room and then his teacher has to hold him so I can leave. I'm not sure what it is because he's fine after a minute and seems to really enjoy it. He'll tell me about his day, eventually, and gets excited talking about it. But even today, another kid from his class (who was really nice), said to his mom on the way in "He cries everyday." How sad is that? I'm not sure what to do about it but I'm not pulling him out. But it sure breaks my heart!

This is a watermelon "shaker" (aka paper plate with beans) and an apple painting.

Thumbprint apple tree, and a bear puppet.

Some cute picture of bees, with wings made from waxed paper.
I'm not sure where the bee and bear come in but Adam said they did more bear and bee stuff today. He said they were talking about the letter B when I asked him but that wasn't on the newsletter. If they are that worked out good because I just started doing letter of the week stuff with Adam again and we started with B this time. Took him three days but he can finally write a very good B and b! I'll get those things posted soon because we did some fun Bb crafts.
Last weekend we decided to take the kids to the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum. Ellie is obsessed with running to look at the sky every time she hears and airplane and Adam likes them to so we thought they'd enjoy it, which they did. I was surprised at how well they did considering you weren't supposed to touch any of them.

Except this one that you could go inside.

First Schoolwork of The Year

Here is Adam's first school work of this year. He's had two full weeks now, going twice a week. He's cried every other time but only for a second and then he's fine and loves it. He's said he doesn't want to go both days this week but I make him and he enjoys it. Not sure why he does that when he acts like he loves it so much but hopefully as the year progresses he'll start running in there and forgetting about me!
The top part of this picture is a ladybug because that's what class he's in this year. And they're doing the color red this week.

And the number one.

Fun Pics

Since I haven't taken pictures or done a blog post in awhile I took some pictures last night when we were out playing on the deck.
Ellie being an elephant.

We have no idea where he got this from but he does this all the time now. At this moment he said, "Hey mom, take a picture of this."

Saying Goodnight

Every night when it's time for Ellie to go to bed we have her tell Adam goodnight. This involves issing and hugging and is the cutest thing I've ever seen! I haven't captured a good picture of it yet but here's a decent one of them hugging. I'm going to try and get a video of it soon because that's something to have for posterity!

PAT Popsicles in the Park

I'm finally getting some posts up here and promise to start taking pictures again. Things have just been so crazy busy I haven't even thought about picking up a camera.

This was at the end of August. The PAT does this...the kids can play at the park, do activities, and eat popsicles. I only snapped a few pics of Adam doing the parachute.
