Adam is learning how to spell words. He has these decks of cards to play Go Fish with and they have pictures on them with the words, like car and ball. I would ask him how to spell a word and have him repeat it a few times. Then I'd cover it up and have him say it again. Then I ask him a few times a day how to spell something and he remembers. I'm going to try and add a new word every few days and then he should be reading soon right?

Ellie w/ Push Toy
We've had the push toys downstairs and Ellie never had any interest in them. Last night we decided to bring one upstairs and she couldn't get enough of it. In fact, she threw a huge fit when we took it away so she could get a bath! She can't turn it though and gets mad when she gets stuck against the wall or the couch. I'm glad she's liking it though and maybe will be walking before long. She's ready to just has to figure it out yet.
On a side note...I had changed the direction of this video so you could see it correctly but for some reason it won't upload right. So, just turn your head to see this!
Outside Play
Thomas the Train Playdate

Toys R Us had a Thomas the Train playdate on Saturday so I took Adam out for some alone time. It wasn't really anything special though. Basically it was playing with the two train tables they have set up in the store, which we could do any day. They had a little cardboard hat, that didn't fit him, some collector's cards that he did like, and a coloring sheet. She tried to read a story but the kids wouldn't listen and just wanted to play. But Adam had fun anyway.

Family Update
I'm getting bad about posting to the blog so I thought I'd give a family update.
Bradley is finishing up his class for this semester. Then he has one class this summer that is only four weeks and he'll finally have his masters degree after all these years. He's also getting ready for another trip to Switzerland the first week of May.
I'm just doing the same old things. I am trying to get this Avon off the ground. I think it's going pretty well so far and I know it takes some time to get your customer base built up. I'm getting there and really enjoy doing it. I just hope it starts to pay off a little bit. I also decided it's time for me to get confirmed. I had my first confirmation class today and will be confirmed at the Cathedral downtown by the Archbishop May 31.
Adam is getting excited for his birthday in a few weeks. We're doing a friends party for him here and then we'll have a combined party with Ellie for the family later in June. It's fun that he understands it more this year. He's also been to a few of his friends' parties so he's getting it that he'll have a party soon too. He has a couple weeks of school left, which is good because he's not liking it so much anymore. He was loving it until the end of February or so and I'm not sure what happened but now he cries and says he doesn't want to go, although I make him stay. He only cries for a few seconds and when he gets home he's in a good mood and very talkative about what he did that day. So I'm not sure what that's about. We're looking forward to summer though and fun activities to keep us busy.
Ellie amazes me every day. She does things that I don't remember Adam doing at this age. She could walk if she wanted to but isn't quite ready. She's cruising around everything, letting go and standing there, crawling like a monster and loves to climb over and around things. She has five teeth and has been working on the sixth for a couple weeks now. She's getting good at imitating things. She'll pick up a cell phone and hold it to her ear, she'll try to put a hat on her head, or socks on her feet. She's really into touch and feel books right now and really enjoys reading. She says "Ada" for Adam and knows "mama" and "dada". She's currently got an ear infection, no surprise there! It's taking awhile for her to get on the mend but hopefully in a couple more days she'll feel better. She's growing like a weed, too. I had already bought her whole summer wardrobe in 12 months sizes and she already can't wear them! I am having to go back to the store and get 18 month stuff.
That's pretty much all we've been up to. I'll try to get better about posting. This is one of those things I put on the back burner until I get other things done but I'm just not getting caught up right now. Hopefully soon...

Easter

We were home on Easter. We made it to a very crowded 10am mass. Then we just hung out like any other day. I decided against dying eggs. I didn't think Adam would be that into it since he never likes to do crafts or color or write or anything of that nature. The kids got some Easter treats that kept them busy most of the day.
Easter Saturday

We were at my sister's on the Saturday before Easter since my brother and family were there, and my mom and stepdad. Adam got to enjoy an easter egg hunt and it was fun to have all the cousins together for the first time. We didn't get any really good pictures though. But what can you expect with three of them ages 9 months, 6 months, and 2 1/2 months? And here's a video of Austin laughing at Adam. It was so funny. We couldn't catch very much of it but you get the idea. James, Marsha, and Austin Visit
My brother and his family are here visiting this week on their move from VA Beach to Seattle. My kids have sure enjoyed their cousin Austin and it's nice to have more than a day or two together.

Austin

Ellie and Austin

When Austin first saw my kids he laughed hysterically for about 20 minutes. It was so cute!

Ellie wasn't very good about sharing her toys.

The three baby cousins...Ellie, Austin, and Joe.
